Terms of Service & Refund Policy

1. What AutoYear is

AutoYear is a small piece of software (a WordPress plugin and a universal JavaScript snippet) that keeps the copyright year in a website’s footer current, plus an optional done-for-you installation service. It runs entirely inside your own website in your visitors’ browsers. It does not create an account, does not collect data, and does not communicate with our servers.

2. The purchase

• “Do it yourself” is a one-time purchase of the software files with a license to use them on any website you own or manage. It is not a subscription; there is nothing to renew.
• “We fix it for you” is a one-time purchase of the software plus our installation service: we install AutoYear on your site (with access you grant and can revoke), verify the fix, send before/after screenshots, and — for 12 months from purchase — reinstall or repair it free of charge if it stops working.

Taxes are calculated and collected at checkout by our payment processor (the Merchant of Record for the transaction), which also issues your invoice.

3. Refund policy — 14-day money-back guarantee

Every purchase comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not happy for any reason within 14 days of purchase, email us and we will refund the full amount — no questions asked. Refunds are issued through the payment processor to your original payment method. This guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, any statutory rights you have as a consumer (including the EU right of withdrawal, where applicable).

4. License

The WordPress plugin is licensed under GPL-2.0-or-later. The universal snippet may be used, without limit on the number of sites, on websites you own or manage. You may not resell or redistribute the files as a standalone product.

5. Done-for-you service — access to your site

For the installation service you grant us temporary, limited access (for example a temporary WordPress user you create and can revoke at any time). We use that access only to install and verify AutoYear, change nothing else, and recommend you revoke the access as soon as we confirm the fix. We never ask for your personal passwords.

6. Honest-claims note

We say this on the sales page and repeat it here: the copyright year is not a search-ranking factor. AutoYear improves how current and trustworthy your site looks to human visitors; we make no SEO claims.

7. Warranty & liability

The software is designed never to break the host page (it is wrapped so it cannot throw errors into your site) and to change only the footer copyright year. Beyond the guarantees stated here, the software is provided “as is”; to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Support

Email support is included with every purchase. If AutoYear isn’t working on your site, contact us with your site URL and we’ll get it working or refund you.

9. Contact & seller identity

AutoYear is operated by an independent software seller registered in Mexico. Contact: support@autoyear.example. Invoices (including Mexican CFDI on request) are issued at checkout.
